Overview of the project.

Here I am going to showcase the process of casting a custom wheel based on BBS E50/55 three piece split wheel. The wheel is engineered to be fitted with 13″ tires and can fit big calipers with ventilated disks. The center section has two options, single nut or 4×98 bolt pattern. The patterns will be done with the help of 3D printing. The aluminium will be cast in green sand and sodium silicate. Some crude pouring simulation will be done to have a better shot at the gating and pouring system. The material will be alloy as close as possible to D16(2024) with T6 heat treatment.
