Ruote Borrani wire wheel 5,5 j width for Maserati 3500,5000 – Part 1 – Center section

First post out of four, dedicated to creating CAD model of a wire wheel for a classic automobile. The chosen wheel as a prototype is Ruote Borrani wire wheel 5,5 j width for Maserati 3500,5000. The video below, shows the modeling of the center section of the wheel. It engages with the hub via spline joint. This is how the torque, or braking force is transmitted to the tires. The center section secures the wheel to the hub with large single nut, that is usually hammered tight with special wrench or directly with hammer.
