Mazda MX-5 Miata dual plenum turbo intake manifold – Part 5 – Cone

The cone is the part, where most of the magic happen. You have pressurized turbulent flow coming from the the throttle body, and with usual design manifolds, you will get most of the flow to pass at the rear of the manifold. With this conical part and the slot with variable dimension, the flow is forced to go evenly across the the slot, which will result in better flow distribution across the secondary plenum and more equal cylinder filling.
